Does anyone else feel sticker I have an Internal Cardiac
Defibrillator(ICD). It seems
to cost just short of 150
dollars for the 10 minute
clinic visit, and around 200
dollars for the cardiologist,
who is not present at a visit,
to analyze the result. That is
for one normal visit with no
problems. I believe I get four
of these visits a year.
Is this typical or a bit on
the expensive side?

Sadly, this is the case and it is partly due to the way health care in the US is funded. You get the best but it costs. In the UK where I work, cardiologists like myself get paid a straight salary which is funded by taxation and seeing one of us costs the patient nothing, nor does any treatment you may need. However, as governments don't like putting up taxes because it makes them unpopular, we find ourselves rather underfunded. Take your pick! |

Any way to transfer recordings I just got a Sony ICD-B300
digital voice recorder from a
friend, as a present. Does
anyone know of any way to
transfer the recordings to a
computer? It doesn't seem to
come with a USB port or cable,
and I can't find any mention
of such a function, neither in
the manual or online. I want
to use it, but really need
that computer connectivity.
Thanks.

If your device has a jack for headphones, you could use a cable to connect your device to your PC and record your audio that way. |

What is the next step after If there is a severe blockage
or heart attack then the ICD
may not be able to save a life
in that individual, so what is
the next step to take if the
person makes it to the
hospital?

fibrinolitics and/or cineangiocoronography.- the first ones are rugs that disrupts the blood clot, and the second one is an invasive procedure in which a catether is inserted in the patients femoral artery and travels to the heart, goes inside the coronary arteries and once they find the clot the inflate a baloon that disrupts it.- |
