Brazilian-portuguese
hyphenation with latex on
linux. I'm using Kile to write
the .tex documents, which are
not compiling, because kile
can't find the packages to
handle portuguese hyphenation
=(. Does anyone know how to
install these packages on
linux?

How do you get rid of the I've set up a newsletter in
Quark and have only just
noticed that the words run
over the end of the lines, so
you end up with hyphens in the
middle of the word. I can't
work out how to change it.
I've got too far to change to
using another application.
Thanks for your help!
But how do you turn off text
wrapping??! I've tried to find
it...
yey! I've worked it out!!

Let's say you're using justified text and it splits a word and puts in a hyphen and you don't want it to break the word there, you can place the cursor in front of the word and then, while holding down the option key, press return. That will break the line at that point but will extend the line so it's still justified. If you turn off text wrapping, you will turn it off for the whole block of text. By using the option return, you'll impact just that line. I just tried it to make sure it works; haven't used that option for awhile. |
