Can anyone tell me a good My daughter will be a
sophomore next year. She wants
to learn Hungarian (because
her uncle is Romanian) for her
foreign language. I
homeschool, so I need to find
a program that will help her.
I understand it is a very
difficult language to learn,
but she is passionate about
being able to speak the native
language of her beloved uncle.
I would appreciate any help.
And as a note, I already
checked Rosetta Stone and
Aurolog.

Go to your public library and ask them to do an inter-library loan for the CDs of Beginning Hungarian, author: Pimsleur. Then burn the disks to the mp3 format and return the set to the library (you will probably be able to keep them only a week). Then she can practice using the computer. No book is necessary with Pimsleur. It teached you to speak and understand. Just don't sell the copies or give them away... delete the files when you don't need them any more. Then when she is beginning to feel comfortable with the basics of speaking, you can try this site: http://impulzus.sch.bme.hu/inf o/magyar.shtml |
