what is the best way to find ajob operating heavyconstruction equipment?
Im wondering what the best way to find this kind of job would be. Im moving to another state and want to work asap. Online job sites don't have much. Clist has 1 or 2 at a time. Is visiting jobsites and speaking with whoevers in charge effective? Im army reserve and am 21(super(heavy+light equipment))echo and hope this will spark some interest with potential employers. Any other ideas?
If by heavy machinery, you mean bobcats and stuff then you should work for the government. My step-moms dad works for the city of Evansville and does pretty good stuff digging trenches and helping with the water run offs.
What is the MOS - 21E (HeavyConstruction EquipmentOperator) like?
I'm in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and am considering reclassing to a 21E. What's the job like? What do you enjoy about it? What are the drawbacks about it?
Im a combat Engineer in a Sapper Company currently in iraq and we have 3 21E's in HQ platoon for some reason. 1 of them is our unit armorer and the other 2 do "A and O" bullcrap. And they all do TOC shifts during the day and night too. Like when we cap and fill an IED Blast craters in the road, those 2 dudes are the ones driving the 916 to the blast sight with the bobcat and they clear out the hole, lay the rebar, and help the civilian pour and lay the cement They also sometimes have to go out in sector and use the big equip to move the texas and alaska barriers in the city. 21E dont really belong in sapper companies so usually you will be with a bunch of other 21E in some BSB unit or something. This case i described is kind of a rare one, and just a little idea for you
How dangerious is/Heavyconstruction equipmentoperator/AH-64 attackhelicopter operator/Motortransport jobs?
In the Army. Do they get deployed more than average? Any more info on these positions? Thanks My Mistake- I meant AH-64 Attack Helicopter Repairer(15R)
Im an Ah-64 apache Mechanic (crew chief) 15R stationed at ft. campbell. It is a dangouras job, you are dealing with alot of very fast moving parts that if you lose focus for just a second at the wrong time it can kill you. You also have the lifes of 2 pilots in your hands, so you have to make sure that you do your work correct, every time, no exceptions. I cant say we get deployed anymore than any other mos, the army now has a policy of 12 month deployment, 12 months of dwell time (non-deployable) were avraging about 18 to 24 months home, per 12 to 15 month deployment.
