You have made a serious mistake. Which translation of the bible are you using? The makkabies1.1 says at the Greek prototype: “Καὶ ἐγένετο μετὰ τὸ πατάξαι Ἀλέξανδρον τὸν Φιλίππου Μακεδόνα, ὃς ἐξῆλθεν ἐκ γῆς Χεττιιμ, καὶ ἐπάταξεν τὸν Δαρεῖον βασιλέα Περσῶν καὶ Μήδων καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντ αὐτοῦ, πρότερον ἐπὶ τὴν Ἑλλάδα.” And this is translated (Brenton) as:” Now it came to pass, after that Alexander the son of Philip of Macedon, who first reigned in Greece, coming out of the land of Cethim, had overthrown Darius king of the Persians and Medes” Or from King James Version :“And it happened, after that Alexander son of Philip, the Macedonian, who came out of the land of Chettiim, had smitten Darius king of the Persians and Medes, that he reigned in his stead, the first over Greece,” Or from Revised Standard Version “: After Alexander son of Philip, the Macedonian, who came from the land of Kittim, had defeated Darius, king of the Persians and the Medes, he succeeded him as king. (He had previously become king of Greece.)” The text simply says that Alexander arrived in the area after COMING OUT from Chettim land, meaning PASSING ALL THE WAY THROUGH and not that he was from that land!!! I know it is difficult to understand Greek but this is the case! Of course ancient Macedonians were Greeks and they came to Greece with the rest of Greeks long before the Slavs appeared. And of course Alexander the Great was from real Macedonia which is in Greece (Greek -Macedonia or Macedon) and not from Slavic-Macedonia! Sorry. |
