For a character similar to Hannibal Lector, try the Pendergast series by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. Although Pendergast is a good guy, he is smart, well traveled, well bred and seems to know just about everything you could imagine. The stories vary from horror and supernatural to mystery/thriller and eventually include a villain that might be Hannibal's equal, although you have to read 5 books or so to get to him. I really enjoyed these books - I am sure they will keep you turning pages, so give them a try. |

What order should I read the I just received the Hannibal
Lecter books for Christmas,
but I am not sure what order I
should read them in. The
chronology of the books is
different than the order in
which they were published
(sort of like the Star Wars
movies). I was wondering if I
should read them in the order
that they were published, or
if I should start with the
earliest part of Hannibal's
life and finish with the later
part of his life. Any help
would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

I read them in the published order, and it was a good way. Hannibal is a very complex madman who is slowly revealed over the course of four books. I remember the visceral thrill when, in "Hannibal" we get a hint of how he became known as "the Cannibal." I'd read them in the published order: Red Dragon The Silence of the Lambs Hannibal Hannibal Rising. |

Hannibal Lecter in a dream, I just wondered if anyone
might know who or what
Hannnibal Lecter might
represent. I was in a large
spooky share house with many
rooms, and Hannibal Lecter was
highly intelligent and on the
loose.

I don't know but if Hannibal is upsetting your dream self then send him round to my boss's home. She may go down well with a bottle of Chianti. |
