Why did the Haitian Revolution start? Who were the key people to the revolution? What happened during the revolution? Thanks, I really need this soon!! As in what were the like the seven major events of the Haitian Revolution? please, I need this tonight.
The Haitian Revolution started in the then french colony Saint Domingue in 1793. It was due to the Euro-American rule and this was the first real revolution that gained them their freedom. They established a self-governing republic in 1804. During the revolution plantation owners took precautions for their own slaves making sure they wouldn't revolt. Sorry don't really know key people.
