when a plane crashes it GNP measures the amount of
services provided, ie; when a
plane crashes it will demand
for many services, ie; police,
ambulance, firemen, hospital,
news, and even the priest will
provide the funeral service,
etc. this sure doesn't
indicate a healthy economical
growth, in fact you may call
it Gross National Pathology!
now i like to know which
developed nation has the
highest GNP. HOW DO THEY RANK
PLEASE

You make the error of omitting the opportunity costs. You could have used the money spent on the rescue services, etc on other purposes and still had a fully functioning plane if there was not a crash. This is the broken window fallacy see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P arable_of_the_broken_window Nominal GDP ranking in millions US$ 1 United States 13,201,819 2 Japan 4,340,133 3 Germany 2,906,681 4 China 2,668,071 5 United Kingdom 2,345,015 6 France 2,230,721a 7 Italy 1,844,749 8 Canada 1,251,463 9 Spain 1,223,988 10 Brazil 1,067,962 11 Russian Federation 986,940 12 India 906,268 13 South Korea 888,024 14 Mexico 839,182 15 Australia 768,178 16 Netherlands 657,590 17 Turkey 402,710 18 Belgium 392,001 19 Sweden 384,927 20 Switzerland 379,758 More useful is GDP (PPP, i.e. taking into account living costs and inflation) 1 United States 12,416,505 2 People's Republic of China 8,814,860a 3 Japan 3,995,077 4 India 3,779,044b 5 Germany 2,429,644 6 United Kingdom 2,001,821 7 France 1,849,666 8 Italy 1,672,006 9 Brazil 1,566,253 10 Russia 1,552,008 11 Spain 1,179,092 12 Mexico 1,108,281 13 Canada 1,077,995 14 South Korea 1,063,866 15 Indonesia 847,609 16 Australia 646,343 17 Turkey 605,876 18 Thailand 557,378 19 Argentina 553,292 20 Iran 543,815 This gives GDP (PPP) per capita rankings of: 1 Luxembourg 80,471 2 Ireland 44,087 3 Norway 43,574 4 United States 43,444 5 Iceland 40,277 6 Switzerland 37,369 7 Denmark 36,549 8 Austria 36,031 9 Canada 35,494 10 Netherlands 35,078 11 United Kingdom 35,051 12 Finland 34,819 13 Belgium 34,478 14 Sweden 34,409 15 Qatar 33,049 16 Australia 32,938 17 Singapore 32,867 18 Japan 32,647 19 Germany 31,095 20 Italy 30,732 |

Average hourly rate for speech I just moved to the Sacramento
area. I am a stay at home mom
and I am thinking about
transferring my license so I
can practice in California. I
have my C's and I have been
working in either the school
district or in private
practice for the last seven
years. We moved here because
my husband took a new job. I
like staying at home, but I
also want to stay in the game,
so to speak. Before I spend
too much time digging into it,
I was wondering what the gross
hourly wage for per diem work
is.
