Does the EU make Ireland, I heard someone say that
because of the EU (European
Union), Ireland and Great
Britain are now the same
country. Is this true?

They are part of the same economic and political union (the European Union) but they all retain their soverignity and some have opted out from using the Euro (Denmark, Sweden, and the U.K.) and from the Schengen travel area (Ireland and the U.K.) Some don't qualify for Euro use yet (Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Lativia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania) or are not ready to enter Schengen agreement (Bulgaria, Cyprus, and Romania). Each country still has their own head of state (Queen Elizabeth II of the U.K., King Juan Carlos I of Spain, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, etc.) and they do have their own head of government (Gordon Brown of the U.K., Jose Zapatero of Spain, etc.). |

I am a UK travel agent. As a piece of general advice, which may not help THIS time, read the 20 pages of your insurance policy before you go, not just when you have a problem. Travel insurance prices vary widely - mostly, the cheaper ones have cunning exclusions so they don't have to pay. However, I am not sure what the Hell "cabin sickness" is? If it is absence of cabin crew due to illness then I would be surprised if that was an excuse. Read the policy, appeal if you have got grounds. Also, see if they belong to the Financial Ombudsman scheme. However, bear in mind that the average policy only £10 - £20 for a 12+ hour delay. |
