What is the difference betweengrassland, chaparral anddesert biomes?
What is the difference between grassland, chaparral and desert biomes? I really don't understand the difference between the former two; they seem pretty similar to me. Thanks!
Desert biomes would be similar to the tundra... The desert has minimal vegitation. The grassland supports tall grasses and short grasses. The chaparral is the inbetween biome. All three biomes are determined on the amount of precipitation they get. Grasslands gets more than chaparral and chaparral gets more than desert. I hope this helps
How to save the endangeredspecies in the grasslandbiome?
Any Exotic/foreign species that may have been brought into the grassland biome? And their impact on the ecosystem?
Grasslands are probably the least protected terrestrial biome because they are incredibly valuable as farmland. The majority of endangered grassland species are threatened because of a lack of native habitat. The best thing that we can do to protect these species is to protect all of the remaining native grassland and to improve farming practices. Better farming practices will lead to less farmland and a healthier environment. Reverting old farmland to native grassland in the most critical areas will greatly help these species. There are a large number of species that are invasive in grasslands and these also contribute to the demise of endangered species by increasing competition with native species.
