Comparison in the development One of the questions I have to
answer ask me to compare and
contrast the development of
England, France, and the
German Empire during the
Middle Ages.
Another one asks to compare
the political development of
these kingdoms.
Frankly, I don't understand
the difference between these
two questions, and I would
gladly accept help on how to
approach on either of them.
Thanks!

For the first question you may look at it economically. Where England is best illustrated by malthus (a great economic-social theory and easy to understand), France as a more trade-orientated state, and Germany as a conglomerate of states. For the second one you could focus on the governmental developments needed to maintain the economics of the states. Britain needed a navy and new resources, France needed to maintain a monarchy over a vast area and Germany needed to appease all the states and band together. I'd write something like that. |

German "Empire"? No such thing, Germany has only ruled it's own boundaries except for temporary control of France and parts of Russia, Czech Rep, Poland, for a couple of years during 1939 to around 1944, that wouldn't constitute an "Empire" by any means. Now Rome on the other hand.....= ) Ask your teacher to rephrase the question, or otherwise all of the above is incorrect. |
