What honor did the Alliespermit the Red Army to haveafter the German Empire'scollapse in 1945?
I don't really think anyone can answer this.. but I would appreciate cooperation :) thanks
The allies weren't really in a position to argue about what the Red Army did or didn't want. The Soviets had fought a bloody war of attrition from the Volga to the Elbe - the Western Allies were nowhere near as battle hardened. The Soviets were given the honour of taking Berlin - but they wanted it & the Western Allies didn't. Watch the film of the Red-Army throwing German battle Honours to the ground in Red Square - they, more than any other army had the honour of defeating Germany. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v =WXwCdrQEk7I
