sources?

I know he tried to unite the Gallic tribes when Jullius Ceaser was conquering Gaul. I'm guessing the events took place around 60-20 bc it was before Ceaser was emperor. Read the book Druids by Morgan Llewellyn, it is a good fictional history dealing with Vercingeteroix |

Did the Hungarians of the Mediavel Age: 1000-1500 AD

considered a Baltic Country?
Or of Baltic Ancestry?

Way back when (pre-medieval) Hungarians' ancestors lived in the Ural region. For some reason, they decided to move west. When they got to the region around Estonia they split into two groups with one group heading south and the other group settling in that area and a little northwest (Finland). That's why Finns and Hungarians are most closely related to each other and not to other peoples that live near them. Finland is often considered part of Scandinavia, but that's purely geographical. They have no real relation to the rest of Scandinavia. It's the same for Hungary - even though they're surrounded by Slavs, they're not genetically or linguistically related to them. |

Not a lot of easily accessible historical sources remain that explain the Gallic command structures. Roman sources mostly describe the Celtic tribes as charging them en masse. Even so, there must have been leaders among the Celts/Gauls who dictated overall military strategy. Each tribe consisted of several clans called "pagi". From these pagi, a council of elders dictated the political alignment of the tribe. The council also annually selected a Vergobret, or a judge to adjudicate disputes. Some tribes like the Arverni were commanded by 'god kings' called their Verrix. However when the Gallic people as a whole were threatened, they would lay aside their differences and elect a leader to choose the best course of action, as they did with Vercingetorix when the Romans invaded. |
