will my bulbs rot without sand i have planted bulbs before
but have just read that sand
should be mixed into the
bottom of the soil to prevent
rot. Perhaps I was just lucky
in the past? Will the bulbs
(Chiniodoxa/Galanthus nivalis)
I planted this autumn rot in
the ground before next year?

If they haven't in the past, in the same location, then it's probably well drained enough without the sand. Heavy clayey soil that remains cold and wet over periods of weeks or months is where the concern about rot makes sense. |
