Where do you file unemployment I am leaving in about two
weeks. Should I file after I
move to a different state or
while I am still here? Also,
what do you do when you move
to a new state about
unemployment?

Contact your state unemployment office before you leave. Different states have different rules, but in general you file with the state in which you worked. At least as it pertains to my state (Oregon), it is called an "interstate" claim, and it is administered by a specific unit of the Employment Department. |

Can I file unemployment while I'm 18, I work part time (10
hours a week or less) at a toy
store, and I am a full time
college student with a baby to
support and another on the
way. Am I able to file
unemployment since I am not
getting sufficient hours to
support myself let alone 2
kids?

Generally no. To be eligible for unemployment compensation you must be actively seeking and be ready to accept an immediate offer of full-time employment. Since you are attending school on a full-time basis you're generally ineligible for unemployment compensation. |
