Questions/Answers
Is there a FCC regulation thatrestricts companies fromoffering high speed I-netservice cheaper than others?
ATT called me and said that the FCC free trade rules prohibit them from offering 6MB internet service for only $20 a month. They stated they would love to do so but they are restricted to only selling it at certain prices ( $100 a month in this case ) by the FCC regulations. Are there any such regulations that prohibit them from offering a service at a much lower price and if so can you tell me where to find information on it.
No. free market is in play. Call around to your other potential service providers and get their info. you can also call the Public utilities division and ask them this question directly or email them. I am sure ATT will have some way to wiggle out of it. tagger

Applying to the FCC for acommercial station as opposedto a noncommercial ortranslator station?
I live in Indiana, and I am interested in starting a broadcast relay station of a noncommercial station in Florida. Since the FCC is not accepting applications for noncommercial stations or FM translator stations, why couldn't I just apply for a commercial station and broadcast the non-commercial programming? What are the differences among these applications?
A commercial station is one that makes money and in most cases is actually harder to get than a non commercial one. In most of the US east, there is no room to put another commercial station as they can only be licensed if they follow a lengthy set of regulations on where they are on the dial compared to others etc etc. Also you have auctions to follow to receive a license as many times you are competing against many other station owners to receive a license in the commercial broadcast band. The easiest way is to wait for the filing window to come about again for a translators which are a lot less regulated than the rest you mentioned http://www.fcc.gov/mb/audio/ho wtoapply.html explains all
