Are Episcopal services similar I would also like some good
websites about the Episcopal
faith and hoping someone might
have a link to an online mass
so I can see what its like.

Paul's answer is incorrect. An Episcopal Mass (we commonly call it a celebration of the Holy Eucharist), like the Roman Catholic or Orthodox liturgies does, in fact, embody the real living presence of Jesus Christ in the consecrated bread and wine. The services are very similar. A good website to explore is www.episcopalchurch.org. |

What's the difference between I'm looking to join either the
Episcopal Church of the USA or
the United Church of Christ.
I've done some research on
both but am finding very few
and very subtle differenes and
feel like I'm missing
something. Could someone map
out the main differences for
me? Thank you.

There really isn't much of a difference. Both denominations are very liberal in their views. The Episcopal Church, however, is the American branch of the Church of England, so they have more ritualistic worship. Episcopalians and Anglicans are closer to Catholics than they are to Protestants, even though they're generally considered to be Protestants. The UCC is a mainline Protestant denomination so they have less ceremony than an Episcopal church. |

How can I find an Episcopal It seems every Episcopal
Church I try has contemporary
with Christian rock music, big
screen prayer readings with
modern text and children
running amock in the aisles. I
just don't connect spiritually
to this mess, and my kids are
so distracted by all the
sideshows that they are not
learning how to pray and
concentrate on the Bible
readings.
What happened???

I was raised in a very traditional Episcopal church (which remains that way). When I married, I moved to another state, and the Episcopal churches around here are like you described. I can't stand it! On this website, you can find churches by zip code, and you can check out the churches' websites to see what they're all about before you attend. http://www.episcopalchurch.org / Hope that helps. Good luck! |
