Utilizing NIMS (National Incident Management System) they would establish a Unified Command where the senior officer from each department would collectively agree on a Incident Action Plan that would coordinate all agencies involved to mitigate the incident in an safe and efficient manner. For more information you can go to www.NIMSonline.com. You can take I-100, I-200, I-700 online for a better understanding. I-300 is specifically for Unified Commands. |

How are emergency medical Are emergency medical services
(911) in the Phoenix area
provided solely by area fire
departments or are some
services provided by hospital
systems? If so, do these
departments hire per diem
EMT-P's or must one become a
full-time firefighter in order
to be employed as an EMT-P? In
the area I am from, BLS
ambulances are staffed by
EMT-B's while ALS services are
offered by a local hospital
system.
