That's interesting I want to see. My only guess is when it lasts longer than it's supposed to. I know the normal boom/bust cycle has a recession part, and the whole cycle should theoretically take 20 years for a full cycle. Maybe it's when the recession part lasts longer than it should. That's my guess, but don't get mad if I'm wrong, that's just my guessing, I really don't know. |

How has this economic Yes, depression defines the
economic situation we're
currently in.
In economics, a depression is
a sustained, long downturn in
one or more economies. It is
more severe than a recession,
which is seen as a normal
downturn in the business
cycle.
To those who question the
severity:
Considered a rare and extreme
form of recession, a
depression is characterized by
abnormal increases in
unemployment, restriction of
credit, shrinking output and
investment, numerous
bankruptcies, reduced amounts
of trade and commerce, as well
as highly volatile relative
currency value fluctuations,
mostly devaluations. Price
deflation or hyperinflation
are also common elements of a
depression.
