Does anybody have any Hi, I've been looking online
for good colleges in the
Carolina area and i came
across East Carolina
University. It looks like a
good fit for me, and i was
wondering if anybody had any
type of information. Anything
will help; is it challenging
to get into, does it have good
academics, hows the student
life, etc... If anybody has
any information it would help
me a lot.

I personally haven't heard great things about it. I would recommend a school like Wake Forest instead if you want a good education. UNC has become extremely hard to get into and Duke's student life isn't great for certain people. Clemson might be another good choice. Its academics have really improved. it has a really nice campus and then you have the good sports program so it can be exciting to go to some of the games. ECU is not that hard to get into. At least not in the family I come from. The average GPA is a 3.42 and the SAT is 1048. It is supposedly very diverse economically, socially, academicaly and in almost every way. Hope this was helpful. Also encarta.msn.com can be very beneficial in making your choice. |

Should I attend the University I'm stuck between the
University of North Carolina
at Greensboro and East
Carolina University. I've been
accepted to both, yet I can't
make a decision. My parents
are forcing me and forcing me
to make a decison but I really
don't know. My major will be
business management or
somewhere along that line, and
the tuition costs don't
matter. If you had to choose
one, where would you go and
why?

I went to UNCG and it is a good school. I was not in business but I believe they have a very good business school. Greensboro is basically a nice city. The City is starting to have a nice downtown and the UNCG campus is really growing. That said. ECU is a good school too and it is located on the coast. It is a party school. If you want to have fun, go to ECU because UNCG can be kind of boring in comparison. If you want a good education and to stay out of trouble UNCG is the better bet. One example of the difference between ECU and UNCG. I went to UNCG, graduated, got a job in my field and now I am an active alumni. My cousin went to ECU, graduated with some kind of degree, has a job doing something else (not good paying) and does not talk about or go back to ECU. She is about twice as smart as me and could have done anything for a career. I have notice that a lot of ECU students get distracted from their goals. |

I'm pretty sure anyone can have a car on campus as long as it is registered. It's so far away from much of anything, you're kinda stuck without a vehicle. My sister-in-law went there and drove. One of our cheerleaders will attend in the fall and she is planning on driving. I don't think that freshman car thing applies at many colleges like it used to years ago. |
