I filled out a do it yourselfdivorce, how easy is that tofile?
I bought the do it yourself divorce kit and am wanting to file it but how easy is it to actually go through with it? Do the clerks and judges treat a person with respect and dignity when you take the papers to file? I am curious about this because it takes a lot of work to fill them out, and also it is time consuming. Has anyone done this before?
Yes, I helped someone fill out these papers. You basically have to fill them out and show who owns what assets, and how the two of you will agree to split everything up. You should get treated just the same as anyone else that would have filed through the courts otherwise. It is time consuming yes, but it could save you a lot of money. Of course, it's only that easy, if both of you agree to everything. If either one of you contests to who gets what, you are going to have a problem on your hands and it will take much longer to try to get through all the paperwork.
How do you do a divorceyourself without attorney??
I found a site that you can order papers to file divorce yourself. It says accepted all 50 states. I am in iowa. Do i fill them out and then do we go and sign them in front of notary and give them to clerk of court or what not sure how do go about doing this. Anyone do it this way?? My husband is leaving the country and isn't planning on returning. He will sign anything because we are still friends and this is a decison we both agree on. We have on child and i will have full legal custody of him and the property will be mine he has no use for it when he will be out of the country. I want this simple and don't have the money for a lawyer
If both parties agree to the divorce and there is no children it should be very easy to get a divorce w/o a lawyer, you do not even need to order from a web site, go down to local court house and request forms for a pro-se divorce they will supply the forms you two fill it out
If you are filing ado-it-yourself divorce do youstill end up going to court?
My husband and I have been separated for over a year. We are going file a do-it-yourself divorce. We agree on everything, very friendly divorce. He has what he wants and I have what I want. Im just wondering if we still end up in court after we file the papers?
Nope. We weren't even in the same state anymore. Which is good because I wanted to chop his junk off still. Lol.
