Why was Nazi Germany called I know that there had been no
emperor in Germany, since
Kaiser Wilhelm II was
dethroned after the end of the
First World War.
Why was Nazi Germany called
"Deutsches Reich" or the
"Thrid Reich"?

Reich does not need to have an Emperor. It is cognate with the English 'reach' and the ric in Bishopric. Means something like Realm. The German govt before Hitler was also called Deutsches Reich. It's on the stamps and coins for everyone to see. |

I found an old coin. It reads: On the flip side is what looks
to be an Eagle with
outstretched wings and some
kind of crest in the center.
I'm not sure what it is made
of but it is dark like maybe
it has oxidized.
