Questions/Answers
I'm looking for a Mexicancookie recipe that my husbandcalls "panne de polvos".?
My husband's grandmother used to make a cookie that had anais in it and was shaped like a walnut sized ball and rolled in cinnamon and powdered sugar. He calles them panne de polvos. They are "melt in your mouth good"!!! I would love to find the recipe and surprise him with them this Christmas.
Pan de Polvo 1 tbsp. anise 1 stick cinnamon 2 lb. flour (5 c.) 1 lb. shortening 1 egg 1 c. sugar Preheat oven at 350 degrees. Grind cinnamon and anise in blender. In large mixing bowl add cinnamon and anise mixture with all other ingredients. Mix until dough is formed. Put dough into electric or hand cookie shooter and form 2-inch cookies on an ungreased cookie sheet. Cook 10 minutes. Remove from cookie sheet and cool. Coat in special powdered sugar (see below). PAN DE POLVO POWDERED SUGAR: 1 c. sugar 1 stick cinnamon 1 tbsp. anise
Cost of a train ticket fromBrussels to De Panne?
2nd class prices only. The train websites only say there's a tariff on board. I'm guessing it's 10 euros or less, being a short ride.
It's a bit more than that. As per the Belgian train website, a round-trip, 2nd class ticket is 35,20 euros. One-way would be half. On weekends, however, there is a special deal, which they call "un jour à la mer" (one day at the seaside). A round-trip ticket is then 18,40 euros, but you need to come back on the same day.
What is sand surfing and cananyone do it in De Panne (LePanne) in Belgium?
I used to call it skeating, it is like a windsurfboard, but on wheels, and yes De panne is defenitely the place to be to do it. They have long beaches with hard sand (wet). It is great, all you need is enough wind and away you go. I Use to live at the coast of Belgium and have done this alot in the winter. In the summer, the beaches are crowded. Also try out windsailing, with a cart, on three wheels. Watch out for the speed though. It's a wonderfull sport and don't miss out on it if you have the chance to do it. Good luck and enjoy.
