How much can Daniel ESTIMATE Daniel is a waiter in a
restaurant. He is in charge of
five tables. Three of the
tables seat four people, and
two of the tables seat two
people. The restaurant told
him to expect three parties of
people at each table each
night. Daniel was told that he
would receive between $2.00 to
$2.50 tip per person.
Part A. How much can Daniel
ESTIMATE he will receive in
tips each night?
Tips per night $___________.
Part B. Explain how you
arrived at this decision.
I have no idea how to even
start this problem. I'm so
confused /= help!

well he should expect the minimum amount and nothing more. if you expect more but get less you'll be dissapointed. so 16 people can sit at all of his tables at any given time, most dinners last at least an hour if he is running an 8 hour shift (which it doesn't say). So based on what the problem says it should work out to this 16(people can sit)x2.00(min amount of tip expected)=32x3(three parties of 16)=96 You may want to double check this math I'm not really that good.... lol |

The biggest problem I think is that the government has really been pushing the "no smoking" policies, banning it from public places etc including pubs. so if they legalised cannabis they would basically be going against their own policies, and if it was legalised, it's almost a guarente that people would want to open Amsterdam style Coffee shops, especially in larger towns. Which again would go against the Government's smoking ban. Even though when you think about it logically (something politicians seem to like to forget about alot) if they legalised it, they would inherit a tax on it that 90% of people wouldn't really mind anyway, jobs would be created also for people/companies to start to grow it, there would also be a degree of quality control also. on top of that if the "coffee shops" could open that would also create additional jobs and would give the government a revenue stream from the taxes etc. additional jobs for delivery. part of the problem also though is some of the "unreasoned" arguments, the ones where you have people that in the nicest way don't have a clue who usually try and argument of "well it's not that bad is it?" and thats about it. which unfortuantely doesn't always inspire alot of people with confidence. what it needs is someone to put together a business case complete with facts, figures and projections to show what a viable opportunity it could be! |
