Which apple cultivars would I know that they need chill
hours. I am considering the
low chill hour Florida
cultivars Anna and Golden
Dorsett but since I am farther
north then Florida would I be
able to successfully grow
cultivars such as Red
Delicious,Yellow
Delicious,Gala,Fuji or Mutsu?
Or should I just stick to the
low chill hour Florida
cultivars? Any advice would be
GREATLY appreciated.

Hello, I'm making a guess that you live in zone 7b or 8a. Using that growing zone as a guide you can plant the following apple trees: http://www.naturehills.com/pro duct/arkansas_black.aspx http://www.naturehills.com/pro duct/braeburn_apple.aspx http://www.naturehills.com/pro duct/cortland_apple.aspx http://www.naturehills.com/pro duct/cox_orange_pippin_apple.a spx http://www.naturehills.com/pro duct/fuji_apple.aspx http://www.naturehills.com/pro duct/gala_apple.aspx http://www.naturehills.com/pro duct/golden_delicious_apple.as px http://www.naturehills.com/pro duct/granny_smith_apple.aspx http://www.naturehills.com/pro duct/lodi_apple.aspx http://www.naturehills.com/pro duct/mutsu_apple.aspx There are more but that should give you a decent mix to choose from. Good luck in your search |

Are there any sweet pepper I live in Miami and I've been
trying to grow bell and
cubanelle peppers but the vast
majority have died. The heat
and the heavy rains quickly
kill them off.

There are and the simple way to find out is to ask the agricultural service. Sweet peppers can stand the heat as long as they receive enough irrigation water. Sometimes they die because of water logging. Use a combined hoe every time you notice that rain water cannot penetrate the soil. open the crust of the surface of the soil and so you aerate the soil which is good for your sweet pepper's roots. Good cropping! |
