correct????
Correct??? add the expression together 1. subtract (3 - z
1. { [ (k-x) - 1] -k + 2x} - 1 = x-2 This is correct. -{ 2- [2p - ( 2p - x) - (5p - x)]} Always work from the inner most parentheses out: Note that -(2p-x) means (-1)*(2p-x) and by the distributive law this = (-1)*(2p) -(-1)*(x) = -2p+x (in short, the minus sign goes on each term inside the parentheses). The distributive law says a*(b+c) = a*b + a*c. Same rule for -(5p-x) = -5p+x So we have [2p-2p+x-5p+x] = [-5p+2x] Then we have 2 minus this and again we'll use the distributive law so 2 -[-5p+2x] = 2+5p-2x Last, this expression has a minus sign in front: - {2+5p-2x} and yet again we have the distributive law so it = -2-5p+2x. subtract (3 - z² - 4z) from ( 9z + 5z² -1) (I'll use z^2 to mean z-squared) This means (9z+5z^2 -1) - (3-z^2-4z)= (9z+5z^2-1) -3+z^2+4z = 13z +6z^2-4 You seem to be having a problem with distributing; Look at these examples: -(a+b) = -a-b -(a-b) = -a-(-b) = -a+b -(-a-b)= a+b 2(a+b) = 2a + 2b -2(a+b) = -2a-2b -2(a-b) = -2a+2b Are these completely clear ? Let me know if you'd like more details on these.
What is the correct spellingand pronounciation of taboule?
I've seen it spelled tabouli, taboule, tabbouleh, and tabouleh. Which is correct, or are all of them acceptable? And Is it pronounced as: tabou-lee or tabou-luh or are neither of these correct :) Thanks in advance!
People say it differently.........either way it could be correct ...... but the most way that people is used to, is saying it as tabouleh, or tabou-luh, the pronounciation for both is the same.....and this is most appropriate for spelling it........But also since people have different accents, they could have different pronounciation of saying it, but its also right the way you get used to saying it....
What is the correct way to usecommas in a list of items?
For example, is it correct to say: Red, White, and Blue. Or is it correct to say: Red, White and Blue. Or are both correct and is the comma after White a personal preference? I've searched online, and honestly can't find any confirmation. I want to say that the second is correct even though the first is more intuitive, but really don't know.
It's called a serial comma, and either way is acceptable.
