Copper ?!?!?!?!?!?
I just replaced the copper wiring in my home and have about 30 feet left over , how much should I get by going to a recycling company or scrap yard ?????????
Look in the phone book for metal recycling companies. Ask them how much per pound copper is getting and if you have to have the insulation stripped before they'll accept it. It may be better to just hang onto the wiring because there will always be some electrical project you'll need it for in the future.
What is the difference betweencopper and wrot copper whendoing a plumbing repair?

I just want to make sure, before I purchase the wrot copper, that it works just as well as regular copper, and can be sweat just like regular copper. Is there any difference between the 2 that I need to know?
just in the manufacturing end, either type will work fine
What causes copper to beoxidized when it is mixed withhydrochloric acid?
I preformed an experiment in chemistry in which we placed a piece of copper into HCL and left it there for a week. When I went back to look at the experiment, the copper had been oxidized. What caused this? And what is the chemical equation? I know that hydrogen will not oxidize copper due to their placement on the activity series. Thank you for your help.
IF any copper oxide was formed while the copper was setting in hydrochloric acid, the copper oxide would dissolve. Copper may not dissolve in hydrochloric acid. (see 1) But copper oxide is a basicoxideand it would dissolve in hydrochloric acid. Per this reaction: CuO + 2 HCl = CuCl2 + H2O
