Questions/Answers
Nuns are the 'brides ofchrist' and wear a weddingring because they're marriedto Jesus. How about priests?
I don't think they'd be the grooms of christ because gay marriage isn't allowed in the catholic church. Nuns are called the brides of christ, but how about the men?
A priest is married to Christ's Church. The take a vow to uphold the churches teaching and take a vow of celibacy, they are Mary's boys so-to-speak, and live the way Jesus lived on this earth, and walk in His footsteps. It is by their choice that they do this and they try to live a life of holiness. God bless you.
What scripture supports thatChrist will reign on earthduring the millennium and thatthere will be peace?
What scripture specifically supports that the saints will rule with Christ on earth? Seems to me that God will devour the earth with fire while we are in heaven with him during the millennium. After that, the resurrection of the dead will take place and they will be judged and cast into the lake of fire with Satan. What scripture supports peacful reign on the earth itself?
It is in two parts. But it begins and ends ON earth. What you mention is after the millenium. 1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshiped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. Rev 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. Rev 20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, Rev 20:8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
How can Christians believe inChrist when his story isvitrually identical to that ofHorus?
The story of Jesus Christ is nearly identical to the story of Horus, Osiris, Bacchus, and Dyonisys, all who pre existed Jesus by thousands of years.
Jesus existed before creation - so they could not exist before him. Besides, if you REALLY REALLY investigate the TRUE stories behind these mythical gods/goddesses, you will find that they were nothing close to Jesus. You are going off of modern day changes to these original stories - dig a little deeper and you will find that Jesus and these others are nothing a like and have really very very little in common. If you look up a question from two days ago I answered - I list the Horus is like Jesus said similarities that are NOT similarities at all. Like I said - dig deeper to the original accounts of these stories, not the modern added on and changed stories.
