chemical reaction?
which of these CANNOT happen in a chemical reaction. a. the production of new atoms b.the production of new molecules c. he transferring of electrons from one atom to another d.the transferring of heat from the reactants to the environment.
A. The production of new atoms is called a nuclear reaction. Since we name all atoms by the number of protons and then number of neutrons remain constants under most conditions for an atom, any change in these numbers are called nuclear reactions. Reactions that happen fairly easily are called chemical reactions. These happen when you just mix two substances together and they trade or share electrons to group themselves differently.
What type of chemical reactionwill cause a decrease involume?
I need to come up with a chemical reaction that will cause a decrease in volume when it occurs in an enclosed environment. The easier and more naturally that the reaction occurs the better. I would prefer that it be exothermic. This is just theoretical, so you don't have to worry about access to chemicals, and there's no need to fear recommending something dangerous to me, because I won't be trying it in real life.
Burning magnesium ribbon in air will remove oxygen gas, converting the Mg to MgO and reducing the volume. There must be loads more where ignition produces a solid product
What is the chemical reactionthat occurred during theHindenburg disaster?
I just want to know the chemical reaction that occurred during the Hindenburg disaster. I know it had to do with static electricity and hydrogen gas, but I don't know the exact chemical reaction. Help!
Ironically, the rxn was H2 + 1/2O2 -> H2O. However, not enough water was created to quench the flames of the exploding hydrogen, although the moving pictures of the disaster clearly show the water.
