Cellular Pathology...will thishelp with an anatomicalpathology career?
I am thinking about becoming a anatomical pathology technician. I already have a degree in Environmnetal Biology. I am thinking about taking a MSc in Cellular Pathology to maybe give me an edge over other applicants applying for the same posts. Does anyone know whether this will set me in good stead with future employers and help with future job prospects? Or are there other possible ways of improving my chanes of employment in this sector. I would be grateful for any information anyone can provide me.Thanks for your help.
It won't hurt, but I don't think the class will enhance your resume that much. Do the best you can for all your classes especially the required ones. The best thing you can do is to work at the program that you are interested in. You can work in the Pathology lab or even as an assistant of some sorts. If you are responsible, enthusiastic, pleasant and quick learner as well as easy to get along, you will definitely have an inside track. If that program is too far, you can also try to work in a nearby lab that is similar to the one you like to get in. Good luck.
When did Robert Virchowdiscover cellular pathology?
Rudolf Ludwig Karl Virchow was among the greatest minds in medicine in the 19th century. He is named "the Father of Pathology" because of a series of 20 lectures in 1858. These lectures were published in 1858 with the original title "Die Cellularpathologie in ihrer Begründung auf physiologische und pathologische Gewebenlehre" (Cellular Pathology as Based upon Physiological and Pathological Histology). He transformed scientific thought in the whole field of biology. Greetings from germany!
