Last week Carol Alt was "fired" from Celebrity Apprentice because, to paraphrase Donald Trump, a matchup between Trace Adkins and Pierce Morgan was a bigger "show". I thought this was completely unfair and sexist, as not only did she best her male competitors in the final interviews, but she is very eloquent, capable and intelligent- much more so on each of these levels than "cowboy" Trace Adkins. Adkins has a deep voice and a big hat. Tonight, on the live finale, Carol had a mini-tiff with sexist Donald Trump, saying that he had all these beautiful women around him, but in the end he wouldn't hire them. The implication is that Trump likes his "beauties" as long as they're pretty but stupid and obsequious. I am no feminist myself, but in all honesty, Carol is right. She certainly deserved to be in the finale, and for her to be "fired" on the basis of Trump's overt sexism is simply justifying the ages-old male chauvinism and workplace sexism. Your thoughts? The result is not in yet but it's pretty obvious Adkins will win. Sigh..he was certainly not the most competent. Popular? Perhaps. But this is ridiculous. Trump hired his daughter because she is his daughter, not because she is a woman. Even the biggest chauvinists in history hired their daughters because of blood ties. I don't see this as an example of Trump's fairness. My hunch was clearly wrong. I thought the cowboy would win because, as is typical of Americana, the cowboy always seems to win.
