Questions/Answers
can the book of Zechariah beused as a biblical narrative?
or does a biblical narrative need a story like for example Ruth, Isaac, Genesis, etc?
If it's for a class, it depends on the purpose of the paper you're writing or the project, and the flexibility or not of your professor. Technically there isn't much "story line" as you would expect in a "narrative" (which a lot of people take to mean bible "stories" like Jonah etc.) The "story line" simply serves to string together the prophecies, which are the point of Zechariah's writing. However, if you have the time you could link the prophecies back to the OT where the events fit in, since the books aren't presented in the Canon in chronological order. There are resources (commentaries, Bible dictionaries) that can help you find out which of the historical books fit with Z's prophecies. However, if you're going to do it that way, make sure your teacher/prof will put up with it first, because it's a lot more work. You might get a better grade for effort, though.
When did the book of Zechariahtake place?
I need to know when the book of Zechariah took place for my project thankss :) Also, does anyone know what type of literary form the book of Zechariah is eg. history, law epistle, etc.
It took place around 586/7 BCE (Before Common Era). The book is mostly theological, with the central theme being the redemption of the Jewish nation.
Information about the book ofZechariah?
just give some info. more about the history or moral or the book, not just a summary.
There's a a lot of end times prophecy, I most use this verse:- Zec:12:10: And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn. It speaks of what began at Pentecost:- Ac:2:4: And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. It identifies thetrue meaning of receiving God's grace. Many assume they are under grace because they don't observe the Old Testament Law for righteousness, but unless they actually receive the Spirit and walk therein they are lawless.
