What country would you I'm planning to go either to
Bolivia / Chile, or Namibia /
South Africa next year in
August or November for around
three weeks. Which possibility
would be better for you?

Both are great choices. It really depends upon what you are looking for. Bolivia is a great wild country and Chile beautiful and conservative. If you like big mountains and want an almost "otherworldy" experience then this is the option for you. On the other hand, Namibia and South Africa have fantastic wildlife and if you include Cape Town (where I live) you get great scenery and lively nightlife etc. Also, while the cultures are significantly different from UK, English is understood, if not spoken, everywhere. Your choice |

You may want to consider waiting 'til after you get there and get settled in before getting a dog. Not all societies are as welcoming of dogs as what you may be used to. Traveling with a dog can be very expensive and importing a dog may require quarantine. Do all of your research before you buy a dog! A quick look at the Bolivian Kennel Club site indicates that most of the breeds that you are probably familiar with are there. http://www.kennelbolivia.com/k ennel/ Your dog, and you, will be happiest if you match the breed of dog to your lifestyle. Your dog will make you the center of its' universe so find a breed that enjoys your level and type of activities. |
