...Benito Amilcare Andrea Mussolini, KSMOM GCTE (29 July 1883 - 28 April 1945) was an Italian politician who led the National Fascist Party and is credited with being one of the key figures in the creation of Fascism. He became the Prime Minister of Italy in 1922 and began using the title Il Duce by 1925. After 1936, his official title was "His Excellency Benito Mussolini, Head of Government, Duce of Fascism, and Founder of the Empire". Benito Mussolini was a fascist dictator of Italy from 1922-1943. He helped shape Hitler's ideas of fascism and Nazism. He escaped Italy when Allied forces advanced on him in 1945 but he was captured and executed along with his mistress Jaquelin Diboix, french maid. |

Mussolini was trying to create a second Roman Empire. He was very proud of Italy's Roman history and cultural roots. He did spend a lot of money on cultural programs and projects, but they tended to be things that had a Roman theme. |

1. he coined the word "totalitarianism"(everything for the state, nothing outside the state). 2.he wrote a book "man and divinity" and sang the praises of athiesm. 3.he was famous for his ability to speak in great depths and without notes. 4.the women loved il duce and he loved them back. women even sent in their wedding rings, diamonds and all, for the good of the state. i could go on and on. he was an interesting historical figure. |
