numbing spray instead ofinjection to drain abartholins cyst?
Ive heard for an in office procedure to drain a bartholin cyst/ abcess, that they can use a numbing spray instead of taking an injection at that spot on your body to numb it before they marsupilize the bartholins cyst. Does anybody know what this is? And should all obgyn's have it in their office?
There is a numbing topical cream available...I have not heard of a spray, but I am pretty sure lidocaine could come in a spray form. And yes, numbing agents available will differ office to office. I had a Bartholin's cyst before, and believe me, the numbing agent was pointless. My gyno only had the injectable. The pressure of the needle was too much...she couldn't break thru the skin, and had to keep trying. The pressure is what is unbearable, the needle-stick doesn't matter. I finally told her to not "bother with the numbing...just lance the damn thing!" Once it was lanced, it was like "YAYYY!" The pain was only then minimal, she could do what she needed to. The residual pain was also minimal. I didn't need any pain meds whatsoever. Topical numbing agents may work to some degree, but because of the pressure involved, I feel they are pointless. If you have a cyst, good luck, I hope it is not too painful for you! Take care!
Just had a marsupilizationdone on a bartholins cyst twoweeks ago? How long do i needto wait to have sex?
Its not sore anymore. Doc said it could take over a month to completely heal
According to the site I checked, the surgery area must be COMPLETELY healed before intercourse can be performed. The tissue is still delicate and not healed all the way on the inside. Tearing can occur and infection can result. Do as the doctor instructed and wait till he says its ok.
Painful sex after BartholinsCyst Op?
Hi, I had a Bartholins Cyst surgically removed 2 years ago. All went well and I healed 'normally' but 2 years on i am still experiencing pain with sex. Does anyone know if this is normal or experienced this personally? Just wanted to check before i bother the dr because its really annoying! Thanks
I can't say personally but you ought to mention it to your doctor if its interfering with you enjoying sex.
