...The Axis powers (German: Achsenmächte, Italian: Potenze dell'Asse, Japanese: 枢軸国 Suujikukoku), also known as the Axis alliance, Axis nations, Axis countries, or just the Axis, comprised the countries that were opposed to the Allies during World War II.the coalition headed by Germany, Japan, and Italy that opposed the Allied Powers in World War II. The alliance originated in a series of agreements between Germany and Italy, followed by the proclamation of an “axis” binding Rome and Berlin (October 25, 1936), with the two powers claiming that the world would henceforth rotate on the Rome-Berlin axis. This was followed by the German-Japanese Anti-Comintern Pact against the Soviet Union (November 25, 1936). The connection was strengthened by a full military and political alliance between Germany and Italy (the Pact of Steel, May 22, 1939), and the Tripartite Pact signed by all three powers on September 27, 1940, Encyclopedia Britannica, Axis Powers, 2008 The three major Axis powers—Germany, Japan, and Italy—were part of a military alliance on the signing of the Tripartite Pact in September 1940, which officially founded the Axis powers. At their zenith, the Axis powers ruled empires that dominated large parts of Europe, Africa, East and Southeast Asia and the Pacific Ocean, but World War II ended with their total defeat. Like the Allies, membership of the Axis was fluid, and some nations entered and later left the Axis during the course of the war. Read full entry

Well, I'm gonna try to explain the religions to you, but obviously there are always exceptions. Axis- Germany- Germany under Hitler was aimed to be a nonreligious society. Hitler was the patriarch of the society, the loving father and the God. There's one quote that really personifies this sentiment. "Hitler ist Deutschland and Deutschland ist Hitler." Translated it means "Hitler is Germany and Germany is Hitler" Japan- Japan believed in Shinto during WWII. They were forced to by the Emperor because it was the way of the gods, which really meant that the emperor WAS god. Italy-I can't really find anything for Italy, but I believe that since Italy was the birthplace of Catholicism, and Mussolini was a Roman Catholic after 1927, he basically let Catholicism stay the main religion for the duration of the war. Allies- United States- Obviously, the US was everything they wanted to be. Britain- Britain was primarily Christian, but the age old feud of Protestant versus Catholic was a private choice. Russia- The Russians were primarily Russian Orthodox. |

What would've happened if If Japan didn't attack Pearl
Harbor what would've happened
if we join the Axis Powers for
some reason? Would the Allies
still win the war? What will
the world be like under Axis
rule?

Great Britain would have been toast for sure. Japan would have been able to grab up all the European colonies in Asia, and without American interference they probably would have eventually conquered all of China. Stalin would have been the only hope for Democracy and Human Rights in Europe. (Stalin or Hitler. Not much of a choice is it?) It probably would not have turned out well regardless of who won. |
