Authoritative parents teach, guide, correct and discipline in a loving way with the intent to be constructive to their children. They love their children enough to give consequences when their child disobeys. Authoritarian parents do not guide their children lovingly rather they are oppressive and there is not any room for any kind of openness or communication and a lot of the times unknowingly just tend to squash their children's dreams by trying to fulfill their own through their kids. Both of sets of parents do love their children, but the authoritative parenting is the way to go and what both my husband and I choose to be. |
