Anthropology?
I am interested in a job in anthropology and im wondering what it would consist of, what would my regular duties be? would I end up sitting behind a desk most of the time? or would I be out alot? other job suggestions would be useful as well, iam interested in studying social interaction, philosophy and I like to be outdoors Response to Ms 6: See thats the thing I dont want to sit behind a desk I find that to be the most boring repulsive life I could ever live. I want a job where I can get out and do something.
Then you would want to pursue a career in Cultural Anthropology, which could consist of you sitting behind a desk if you choose to teach. The beautiful thing about Cultural Anthro. is you don't necessarily have to go to the depths of Africa, South America or the Pacific Island, you can study the cultures right here in the US, you can study prison or homeless population, as an example. Find a school that offers Anthropology become all the Cultural Anthro. professors friends, and maybe they will take you on their next trip. Get your masters and you can have a job in Anthropology, you may want to also get your Ph.D Good Luck! * In response: Yes I understand that, I said you can sit behind a desk if you choose to teach, your choice. You may get better funding if you work for a school.
anthropology!?!?!?!?!?!?!>?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
what do anthropologists do? i know they travel alot, but to what kind of places!? EVERYWHERE? or what? and what do people majoring in anthropology in college do? what kind of trips and interns do they take? is it recommended for someone that has say a 'free spirit' like me?
Anthropology isn't just about traveling. It's a very broad topic. But pretty much they study people, societies, cultures, and languages. In the college anthro class I'm taking, we won't be traveling anywhere. But it is a very interesting course of study. You can do a lot with it, including traveling. But where you travel deals with what specific subject and region or society you want to study.
What can an anthropology majordo later in her life?
i am planning to major in anthropology but i have my doubts. i feel like i am gonna be left out unemployed. i am thinking of getting an MBA but still i feel like it's not gonna be enough. so can you please tell me what my possibilities are (like getting a Phd and becoming a uni prof) and money doesnt really matter to me. i am really interested in anthropology but I also want something solid. how can i turn my anthro major into something solid?
The business world is changing and it is finally starting to see that companies need experts in all many different fields as advisors. Companies need to know all aspects of their products, how they can used, thought about (image), changed. If you have interest in psychology then evolutionary psychology might be a good job for the future but anything related to the medical world is a good bet. Good Luck.
