How are the Alps mountiansimportant to the developementof Europe?
i'm doing an essay! and i need three ways the alps affected Western Europe. I already have one. 1.) Its a natural way of protection. please explain ur answers. I already have a start to my questions answer. "the alps mountian range is a very important geological location in western europe. it is important because it is a natural way of protection." please help mee. i need like 2 more reasons!
Protection is a good start. How about also, "it was provided resources". Maybe minerals, skins and furs of animals, dairy products. It provided poetic inspiration. Think of Wordsworth's "Prelude" and the excitement he felt hiking from Northern Europe to Italy, via the Alps. It isolated groups. It encouraged the development of a Latinate culture in the south and a Germanic one to the north. If the Alps hadn't been there, this still might have happened (who knows?!) but it was easier to have these two different cultural areas develop because there was this massive mountain range in between.
What is the nearest view ofthe alps from the Universityof Fribourg?
I'll be going on a very short visit to Switzerland this 1st week of November & will stay mainly within the vicinity of the University of Fribourg. Assuming I only have 2 free days to see & visit some tourist attractions within the area & with a tight budget, what would be my best 2-day itinerary? Preferably, I should be able to visit the nearest Swiss Alps where I can enjoy the snow, ice, & probably visit the nearest glacier.
. FREIBURG IS THE NAME , and you can see the swiss alps
What is the salad dressingused on salads in the EuropeanAlps?
I was recently in the Bavarian Alps (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), all the restaurants we ate at had a similar salad dressing on their salads that was sort of like a ranch dressing, but not exactly. What is this dressing or how is it made?
And you did not ask.... Here are a few possibilities: German salad dressing This dressing is great when added to tomatoes, cucumbers, waxed beans, or Boston Bibb lettuce. The following recipe is made to serve 3-4 people. 3 small cans un-sweetened condensed milk 1/4 cup distilled white vinegar 1 1/2 tsp. granulated plain sugar 2 tsp fresh black pepper salt to taste the amount of vinegar can be adjusted, depending on how acidic one may like their dressings. This is my favorite on the boston Bibb lettuce. On the other salads, the dressing should marinate the vegetables for a short while. SALATSOSSE MIT JOGHURT (Salad Dressing with Yogurt) 2 tablespoons lemon juice 180 grams yogurt 1 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar 1 tablespoon sunflower oil Mix all ingredients and serve over salad. Refrigerate until use. Bacon-vinegar dressing and dill bacon slices, chopped 1/2 cup finely chopped red onion 1/2 cup white wine vinegar 1/2 cup water 2 teaspoons coarse-grained mustard 2 teaspoons sugar 2 teaspoons salt 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper 1/4 cup chopped fresh dill Sauté bacon in large skillet over medium heat until brown, about 3 minutes. Using slotted spoon, transfer bacon to paper towels. Discard all but 2 1/2 tablespoons drippings. Heat drippings in skillet over medium heat. Add onion; sauté 2 minutes. Whisk in next 6 ingredients. Simmer until mixture is reduced to 2/3 cup, about 4 minutes. Remove from heat.
