...Alarms include:
- burglar alarms, designed to warn of burglaries; this is often a silent alarm: the police or guards are warned without indication to the burglar, which increases the chances of catching him or her.
- alarm clocks can produce an alarm at a given time
- distributed control manufacturing system or DCSs, found in nuclear power plants, refineries and chemical facilities also generate alarms to direct the operator's attention to an important event that he or she needs to address.
- alarms in an operation and maintenance (O&M) monitoring system, which informs the bad working state of (a particular part of) the system under monitoring.
- safety alarms, which go off if a dangerous condition occurs. Common public safety alarms include:

Set your mobile phone to call the police station at 2:00pm and the cops will come banging at your door after 14 mins. |

How can I break a lease with I have a lease with an alarm
company for 2 years. There is
a high rate of false alarms
and the local police sent me a
notice saying that I will be
fined for each false alarm.
The alarm is not hooked up to
the police station, but when
it rings, good citizens and
neighbors call the police and
a patrol car comes out. The
alarm company told me that
they cannot guarantee that
there won't be false alarms
and they are not responsible
for false alarms. I am in
Washington STATE, but anyone
is welcome to answer and all
suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks.
I do not have any pets.

What is causing these false alarms? Do you have pets and motion sensors? All alarm companies do this. If your alarm goes off, it is their responsibility to take all action they can to prevent any damage to you or your home. Unfortunately they cannot tell if it is a false alarm or not. They will usually call the house or the contact person before sending the police, but if they can't get ahold of anyone, they will send the police. Advice: Find out what is causing the false alarms, and fix it. You won't be able to find an alarm company that won't fine you for excessive false alarms. I had the same problem with false alarms, and my company. Until i found that one of my cats kept opening our basement door which had a sensor on it, that was programmed to go off if the alarm was on, and the door was opened. Good Luck. |

What is a good alarm clock for I have a tendency to sleep
through the alarm when it goes
off and I think I have turned
it off in my sleep before. My
dad turns his off in his sleep
too, so I think I inherited
that or something. Usually I
wake up with a new alarm clock
at first, but then get
sensitized to that particular
sound and sleep through it
after about 3 weeks. So does
anyone make an alarm that
changes sounds every so often?
Note: please don't put stupid
answers or advertisements on
here.

I also used to have this problem when I was younger. If you place your alarm clock across the room you have to get out of bed to turn it off. It works for me. If that doesn't work, you can try the clocky. It was invented by a college student who had a similar problem. It runs away if you hit the snooze and the alarm changes. http://www.nandahome.com/ |
