Did Hitler really Poisonathletes in the 1936 SummerOlympics?
I have been trying to search for articles on the summer Olympics held in Germany, that state that Hitler poisoned competitors and executed blacks so that Germany could take home the most metals. I'm not sure if this is a rumour or if this actually took place.
I wouldn't say that Hitler poisoned athletes or excluded blacks. I doubt it happened. But I will say that he prevented Jewish athletes in Germany from participating in the Games. One such athlete was Margaret Bergmann. One month before the Berlin Ollympics she tied the German women's world record in the high jump. But Bergmann was booted off the Olympic team based on her religion. Her story became the focus of the HBO documentary Hitler's Pawn, aired in 2004.
Can we compare Berlin 1936Summer Olympics to Beijing2008?
I know this comparison is maybe abusive, but I'd like to know how many people share an opinion most of my friends have. Berlin 1936 = Beijing 2008 ?
I don't think so. Did Germany feed 1.3 Billion people? No. China does.
1936 Olympics - Berlin. I amlooking for extensive bio onSohn Kee-Chung Korean .marathon gold medalist?
I am looking for an English version of Sohn Kee chungs autobiography my motherland and marathon. This Korean athlete was forced to compete as a Japanese in the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin.
He was alive and ran the torch into the Olympic stadium in Seoul in 1988. Maybe he still is. Check SLOOC (Soeul Olympic Operating Committee) which was in charge of all things related to the 1988 Olympics - I was stationed at Yongsan at the time and got to watch the black Canadian, Ben Adams win a Gold in track (Later tasken away for steroids)
