How much does Lasik eyesurgery cost in Mexico? And isit safe there?
I have a cousin that got Lasik eye surgery in Mexico for about $400 for each eye. Is this a typical price in Mexico? In the U.S., prices are typically three times as much, like in the $1,500 to $2,000 range for each eye. I'm just a little hesitant doing any kind of surgery in Mexico. I currently live in Dallas but I'm looking for affordable Lasik. Thanks
Stay away from mexico for any surgery. it costs more here because a Professional does it. it costs less in mexico because a wanna be US Citizen doctor does it.
Can LASIK eye surgery be doneunder anesthesia?
I wear glasses, and I actually can't wear contacts (which I purchased many years ago) because my eye instinctively closes whenever the contact gets too close to my eyeball. I also have some issues with keeping my eye open through a surgical procedure, since I might end up blinking during the LASIK process. Would it be possible for me to be under anesthesia throughout the surgery?
No, the whole procedure takes less than 2 minutes, and your eye is clamped open, so you can't blink. Most people are squeamish about that, but they have all the bases covered. They give you a valium or something before the treatment anyway, so you won't even care what they are doing...and it's over before you know it.
Will going to gym affect lasikeye surgery?
I underwent lasik eye surgery during aug 2008 and now i have planned to go to gym, will going to gym affect my eyes.
It's been well over a year since your surgery, so normally the gym would be perfectly safe. But, if you had encountered any problems after surgery, you should check with your doctor before engaging in any rigorous activity.
what age is lasik eye surgeryreccomended ?
im 19 , i heared positive feedback about lasik eye surgery i asked 2 good doctors they told me if your 18+ its okay and there will be no complications ,, the next day i read in an article that it is recommended for 30-40 years old ! what do you think ?
The FDA has approved LASIK for those over the age of 18. The real question is whether or not your prescription is stable. See the source: http://www.usaeyes.org/lasik/f aq/lasik-age.htm
can a person get lasik eyesurgery and go into themarines?
friend and i are debating about it. we're part of the DEP program for the USMC and he's thinking about getting lasik eye surgery. will he be able to? trust me he has really bad eye sight.
I would suggest that you talk with a Marine recruiter, first. The Navy might already have a Lasik program to correct vision. If this is the case, your friend could save a few thousand bucks in the cost for Lasik if the Navy does it free ! The navy takes care of all USMC medical care !
