You could apply again right away, but know that it will affect your FICO score. Applying for several cards in a short period of time will knock the score down a bit. I would recommend waiting at least 6 months before applying for another card. You might want to (if you haven't already) get a copy of your three credit reports from AnnualCreditReport.com and check them to see if there is anything on there that could be removed or cleaned up. Is it possible that my credit I recently applied for a
credit card, but was denied.
The reason was the company I
work for does not meet their
requirement or that the
company does not earn much or
to that effect. Does this also
mean that the company is at
the verge of closing?
They told me that I passed the
salary requirement. Except for
the company because it is not
earning that much. Actually,
this is the first time I heard
of this. It is a bank in the
middle east. I can't believe I
got denied because my company
has a poor credit score?

Why do banks keep sending On one hand we are all being

watch our spending, so why do
banks keep sending us
"attractive" credit card
offers?

I don't think that banks should be allowed to 'entice' people to take credit credit cards via mail shots, likewise bank loans. If a person wants a loan or credit card, then they should have to apply for them via their own bank in person, imagine how much ID fraud could be prevented. Also, by applying in person they would not be able to lie about income and out goings because their bank would already have details, that way a great deal of debt and heartache could be avoided. |

If you have the reference number of the application then call up the helpline and quote the reference number and request for cancellation. This should work. Otherwise when you call up the helpline and give as much details to help them find the application and get it cancelled. Probably you will have to speak to the manager who will be available at that time. |
