What happens when they cancel I am in a class that does not
have a teacher. They are
considering canceling this
class and a few others because
they can't find a teacher.
School has been in session for
a few weeks. What will happen
if they cancel the class?
Where will we go? It seems a
little late to switch into a
new class. I just want to know
what to expect.
I think we take the grade we
have in that class to the new
class. Which isn't fair
because we've been teaching
ourselves the subject and not
doing too well!

That's definitely a question to take to your school administrators. You should visit your school counselor or whomever handles the scheduling of classes. I would guess one of three things will happen: (1) that time slot will become a study hall period for you or (2) you'll be given the option to replace it with another class that is in the same time slot (if one is available)- or (3) - the worst case scenario - you'll have to completely redo your schedule depending on the classes that are available- which is an option I 'm sure that your counselor would like to avoid for both your sake and that of the teachers who's classes would be swapped around. I suggest going to your counselor/administrator to address making any necessary schedule changes especially since school has been in session for you for some time already. Good luck! |

No short shorts- you can check by standing up tall and putting your hands at your sides and if they go below your shorts they are too short, same with skirts. Also, no spaghetti straps or tank tops. They don't really like you to show off your shoulders for some reason. Most schools don't like when they can see your bra straps. No cleavage, even though my school doesn't really yell at people who show a little. Umm no shirts with any relations to drugs, sex, alcohol, or anything that you don't think would be school appropriate, use your head. Obviously no hats. That's about it. Have fun shopping and get some awesome outfits!!! :D |

-Usually Ti83 graphic calculator Texas Instrument safest choice lots of schools won't let you use anything else -Graph paper -Binders -loose leaf(lots) -dividers(pocket ones best) -Pencils -Pencil crayons -Pens Red, black, blue (all these colors for correcting) -Highlighters -White out -Dictionary -Geometry set (get a good one its better to get an expensive one once then 5 cheap ones after they break) -Ruler -Folders to bring work home rather then dragging whole bag home -Reinforcements -One of the whole punch things that go on the rings of your binders are always handy Notebooks with subject dividers with a folder for handouts works well too. |

Is it better to attend a I want to go back to graduate
school for psychology. There
are many professional schools
that offer PhD's or PsyD's but
is it better to aim for
prestigious school with an
impressive name? I want a
school that has a good program
but when I go out into the
working world, will the jobs
be passing over graduates of a
lesser known school for
graduates of an Ivy League
school solely based on name/
reputation?

Once you get to the PhD/PsyD level, name recognition changes. For example, Rutgers has an excellent program (both their PhD and their professional school PsyD). Their PhD program is actually much better than Columbia University's program. Also keep in mind that the acceptance rate for PhD programs in general is very small- under 1% at many schools. People with 4.0 GPA and great reccos get rejected from top programs in droves. Apply to a range of schools you think you could be happy at. If you are considering a PsyD, you probably want to practice rather than do research and as long as you go to a fully accredited, not online school you will be very employable. |

A Montisori school in your area. They could be an independent school in your district. Enjoy learning what they are all about. |
