Med school accepts students from all different educational backgrounds. They want people who are well rounded. I say major in whatever you are most interested in, as that will probably help you come out with the highest marks--something that matters a lot when trying to get into med school. If you want to major in international affairs, why don't you do a double major with international affairs and a science. You should go onto the websites of the various med schools you think you will be applying to and take a look at what htey have to say. Many post the profile of a typical successful applicant. Look at what their requirements are and make sure you meet them (some may have specific prerequisite courses that you need before applying). When it comes to getting into med school your MCAT scores, your GPA, and personal references are taken into huge consideration.. so just make sure you stay on top of those. Start studying for your MCAT's in the middle of your undergrad, that way you can be sure to be prepared, especially if you're not majoring in a science program. |

oh godi absolutely love london. from the clothes to the hot guys to the people to the schools. everything about it is just wonderful. there is just so much to do there. you never get bored. its going to be a big change. georgia to london. but youll get used to it all in time. i assume you havent visited before? i was born there, raised an american gal but i visit alot because of family and work. although i find that several english people (depending on where in london of course) are very rude to americans as sort of expected. but it isnt exactly a comforting thing to be welcomed to... but anyway, youd be suprised at how many american live in london. thoough i dont find to much of a difference between us and them besides the fact that hey are more savvy and very quick paced which brings us o transportation. everyon pretty much uses the tubes. the stations are crowdded with bussinessmen to students and such. everyone seems to be in a rush because they like to be on time for everythhing there. so get used to the quickpace and try to go with the flow and dontget run over by a swarm of people trying to get to work!the trains arrive at each stop at the exact same time every day its very efficent. did i metion there is at least 10 breathtakingly gorgeous guys every 2 yards? there is also some amazing food. mmm i wish i was there right now. so many different types of food like indian, itallian, and continental. also the drug stores are great. i refer them to target. o how i wish there was a Boots here. also the chocolates are the BEST. the coffee cake are 128745099326720 times better than starbucks crappy version haha. i wont go into detail on the food because you just cant go wrong on that subject in london. hope you enjoy it |

You can start by volunteering in a local hospital. It will give you an insight into how a hospital works and also looks great on any college application. Be sure you take Human Biology & Physiology if your high school offers it. Make sure your GPA is at least 3.0 or better. Other than that, there really isn't much you can do to prepare yourself. You can always to ask a career counsellor and see if you can get a job shadow day in with a nurse and see if you really want to be a RN for a good portion of your life. Hope this helps! The aforementioned is what I did during my junior/senior and first 2 years of Science undergrad years before I got admitted into the Nursing program. |
