How much harder is the OCS how much harder is it
physically and mentally? and
what kind of physical fitness
tests do you do?

I went to both Army enlisted Basic Training and OCS. Physically, it's about the same. Mentally, nearly every OCS class has a 50% drop out rate and it is far more difficult. There are reasons why OCS requires a higher education and applicants must go through a selection board. The people who diss OCS are those who have never gone through it, can't go through it, or tried to go through it but failed. An OCS class isn't going to have certain "stock archetypes" that are typical in every enlisted Boot Camp class. No Gomer Pyles, or other cut ups. If there are, they often don't last beyond the first week. |

I didn't finish high school, I know, it's a big ask but I'm
willling to do whatever it
takes.
Seriously. I'll go back to
school.

The first step is to finish high school, because that's the key to university admission. Take as much math and science as you can. Check and see if any universities will admit you as an adult without having to complete high school, but you really need those math and science courses. If you can afford it (time and money), try to attend university full time, because it will be a much richer experience. You'll find that the professors will go out of their way to help "mature students"; when I taught university, I always found that people who came to university as adults worked much harder and were much more rewarding to teach. It's a long road ahead, but a very exciting and rewarding one. Go for it! |

What processes would I have to Things such as... visas, etc.
etc. and all that? Would they
be expensive? Is there a site
or some information that could
help me understand the
processes? Also, it'd be for
studying (and I'd also have
family to live with).

Do you have any essay writing I have written my statement

of anything that really worked
for them or strategies I
should consider.

I think it might be a good idea to include things you have done (besides going to school and getting good grades), that show your dedication to helping others. Have you done any volunteer work? Have you participated in any extra-curricular activities which would improve your knowledge (in your field)? Think about yourself -- What is it about you that will make a good doctor? (patience, intellegence, desire to end suffering) Try not to sound arrogant, but don't sell yourself short |
