What kind of music makes a can music actually make a
plant grow faster, if so what

do anything at all does
silence make the difference?

I think they did an experiment on this way back in the 60's. It turned out, as I remember, that classical music made plants grow while hard rock (like metallica) actually killed them. But then maybe that was a flawed study done by rock and roll hating people. Honestly though, I personally think plants, and animals (including people) generally are calmer, more relaxed and even think better while listening to the so called 'classics' than to the more jarring and jangling 'contemporary' music. |

What music/song would best I have a project about the
romantic literary time period,
and I think it would be great
if I could include some music
that best corresponds with the
mood...but I'm having trouble
finding any music or songs
like that. It would be great
if you could help!

Tchaikovsky is indeed one of the masters of the Romantic period, and you could use music from one of his ballets--say, Swan Lake or Romeo and Juliet--if you want an orchestra sound and a lot of emotion. Another good choice for a sweeping orchestral sound would be a symphony by Brahms. If you want less instrumentation, try a piano concerto by either Chopin or Liszt. On the other extreme, the grand "showmen" of the period were Verdi, Wagner, and Berlioz. Try listening to part of La Symphonie Fantastique (Berlioz), Tristan and Isolde (Wagner) or Aida (Verdi). |

What kind of music has been Hi!
I have a 14-year old student
who is a "C" student. She
knows it and is determined to
improve on it. She has asked
me (a music teacher) what kind
of music will help her in her
studies.
I have sort of heard about
listening to music by Bach can
help infants in their
learning. But, what about
teenagers? Is this
scientifically proven? Are
there good information on the
internet?
Please help and advise.
Thank you.

First, sad to say but mozart doesn't make you smarter. Those studies that proved that were all proven false because the people who played mozart for their babies were oddly enough, the same ones who read to their babies, and talked to them, and did everything else. There is no music that will make you smarter by inactively listening to it, just as there is no pill that will make you stronger by simply putting it in your mouth. All good things cost, and smartness costs work. Some music can easy the pain of study, but it can't make the study easier. |

How to get music from itunes Ok well my sister deleted my
music folder, so all my music
is on itunes. I don't want to
have to open itunes just to
listen to a song. Is there a
way to make a copy or
something because I don't want
to have to download all over
again.

What type of music do you like I tend to think that people
who really listen to music
listen for the ability to
relate to a song. I listen to
Country, Christian and, and
some old time rock and roll
because I really feel that
these songs hit the closest to
home. They mesh with my core
values. Do you think that the
way you vote has anything to
do with the music you enjoy. I
mean do you believe that they
complete each other well?
Please tell me your favorite
music and your political
affliliation. And if you feel
they blend well together?

I love to listen to all kinds of rock. My favorite band is the manic street preachers. They are a socialist band and very liberal but I am a conservative. I love their music even though I may not agree on their political stance. |
