Can a person become a model at I'm 27 now but I was going to
wait until I graduate college
so I have something to fall
back on. I'll be 30 when I
graduate.

not too late at all, try these web-sites: http://www.modelmayhem.com http://www.onemodelplace.com set up an account w/ your photos and I promise you a photographer will get in touch with you! They will do TFCD or TFP (time for CD or time for print) which basically means that the photoshoot doesn't cost anything but the time it takes to do it, & you both will mutually build up your portfolios. Once you get a portfolio of 100+ good shots (head shots, body shots etc) then make a comp. card (basically a card with 1-4 pictures on it w/ your stats on the back -- name, age, height, weight, hair color, eye color, expectations etc.) and sent it out to reputable modeling agencies. Make sure your skin looks perfect. Starting 2 weeks beforehand, invest in a professional facial. Then don't have any cigarettes, alcohol or caffeinated drinks or anything with artificial sweetners which can dry out your skin. Eat oily fish (mackerel, salmon, etc) at least 3 times a week, as well as avocados to keep your skin hydrated. Get plenty of exercise and sleep to banish dark circles and bring a glow to your face. You should only have VERY minimal makeup at a casting - it should look like you aren't wearing any. So just a tiny bit of concealer to hide discoloration and maybe clear lipgloss and a tiny bit of mascara on curled lashes. Hair should be pulled away from your face so they can see your facial features and profile when you turn You need to wear high heels and fitted clothing to show off your body and make your legs look as long and slim as possible. Skinny jeans or leggings, fitted top, high heels. Make sure you can walk in high heels - ask a friend or family member to film you walking down the street in the heels and watch it to see if you are wobbly. Stand up straight with your shoulders back - you'd be surprised how many tall girls slouch and are immediately rejected because of it. Know a bit about fashion in case they ask. Be able to tell them in 1-2 sentences why you want to be a model. Who your fave models, designers, fashion magazines, photographers, etc are. |

you should take fashion design as your major. i'm doing it now...you dont only design the clothes for them, but you will need to sew them as well! it's an enjoyable thing to do if you're interested in it! good luck! |
