average weight of a fashion i'm doing a persuasive speech
about how models in the
fashion industry are too thin.
i want to compare the
weight/height/bmi of a model
with the average person to
make a point, but i'm having
trouble finding legit sites
that tell me this information.
please include the sites if
you answer

hey all the weight thing depends on the bone density and the height as well as the flesh so its all in the person and its hard to compare coz a normal person might be a little healthy and short in height wereas the model will be too tall but skinny but both their weights will almost be the same coz the normal person is having flesh weight in him/her and the model has got height and long bones(so her weight will be almost the same coz of her bones weight) but they LOOK thin coz they have almost minimal flesh or fat! |

What makes people say that a There are a lot of pretty
girls, but what makes someone
say that out of say... a field
of other pretty girls that one
of them should model? What
makes them so different from
the other girls?

They just think that they are hot. Out of a field of hot girls, one will always stand out as the First Hottie. |

What makes a person ''model" I have been wanting to model
for about 3 years now and I
was wondering what qualities
(looks,personality,etc.) must
a person possess to be
successful in modeling. I'm 16
and trying to find out how to
get started.
Also does anyone have any good
tips on how to get started?
Thanks!!

As cheesy as it is you have to be confident, trust me you'll get nowhere if you aren't. The modeling worlds harsh, i know you've heard it 1000 times but you wont really get it until its too late. It WILL chew you and spit you out, if your not careful. I've been modeling for only three years, i started with a local agency in Chicago and then i got lucky. I transfered to Elite Model Management in Chicago and when i moved to Orange County i got even luckier, I'm now with Elite- Los Angles. Another thing is you HAVE to be able to take criticism, you'll be getting it from EVERYBODY. You have to be able to listen and understand that your not always gonna be what everybody wants, and it doesn't mean your not good at what you do. My advise start with a small agency, just to get pictures but be careful with what contract you sign you wanna make sure that your not signing yourself to there agency for three years, if it works out go big and don't hold back. It's HARD work but i swear its worth it, if its something you REALLY want then go for it, good luck. Personality- Be who you are they're gonna be able to tell if you being fake. Looks- of course tall, skinny/toned, and when you go to a casting make sure you don't over-do it, LESS IS MORE. little to no make-up, hair back, and clothes that show your shape(jeans and a tank top). It doesn't hurt to have unique features either. good luckkkk. |

When is a person recognizable How much of a person needs to
be showing to need a model
release? Is eyes, nose and
mouth? If you cut out top or
bottom of face (either above
or below the nose) do you need
a release?

You should always get the person to sign a model release form no matter how much of the person you will be showing. that way you are covered for anything that can and might go wrong. |
