One of the lowest priced options is Hapag Airlines (www.hlx.com) from Hanover. You can get fares as low as 20 Euro, incl taxes, or try AirBerlin from Düsseldorf for as low as 29 Euro. Check with www.whichbudget.com. Another option might be a share-a-ride service (www.mitfahrzentrale.de). They offer, depending on the day of departure, a ride for 40 Euro and lower (the more passengers, the lower the rate). |

I would choose Hamburg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H amburg because it offers the best mixture between attractions to bee seen and nightlife. Furthermore it is easy to be reached from Bremen airport. Tramway/streetcar number 6 is departing from the airport every ten minutes to reach the Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) in 17 minutes. Intercity trains are daparting from platform 9 on an hourly basis to reach Hamburg in just 55 minutes with only one intermediate stop. |

arrive at the Bremen airport
from a Ryan Air Flight. Can
please someone suggest a way
to go to Hamburg? The ryan air
buses bus2fly leave 2 hours

another question in this forum
someone suggested the use of
Metronom. Is this far from the
Bremen airport? How much does
it cost? and can we book it
online? Thanks very much

Which is better to visit In the summer we a visiting
Amsterdam for a week. Since
we've been thru southern
Germany cities (and loved
them), we want to visit the
northern half. Due to cost &
time constraints, we're
looking to do an overnight in
Bremen or Hannover.
My question is: which city is
larger? Which would have more
clubs/night life, has more
interesting things to see?

Bremen is more interesting I think. And more beautiful. It is a really old city and therefore there are a lot of historic sights to be seen in or very near to the town's centre, for example the cathedral, the town hall, the statue of the Town Musicians (a donkey, a dog, a cat and a rooster), the Roland (the town's landmark), the Schnoor (district dating back to the Middle Ages), a lot of churches, bridges, an old windmill... . Furthermore one could visit the Beck's brewery, there are guided tours and at the end if you're over 18 you can drink a whole lot of beer. The night life in Bremen is rather developed as well, the main places to go would be the "Schlachte" which is located near the river Weser, there are a lot of pubs and restaurants and in summer there are beer gardens. Then there is the so called "Viertel" with bars, restaurants and a few clubs, especially the street "Auf den Höfen" is always worth a visit. Mind you, the Viertel might cater to more alternative means regarding tastes in music... . If you like more mainstream entertainment, it would be better to visit the "Discomeile" near the main train station. However, this Disco Mile has featured as location for a lot of violent fights etc. in the past. |
